What is the MD5 Signature Verification and How Do I Turn it On and Off?
The MD5 Signature Verification stores a digital signature of each program that is running on your computer. If this signature changes, then you are alerted and asked if you want to accept the change. The most common form of this is when you update a program, it may change it a little, so you will be asked if you would want to accept it. You would say Yes because you initiated the change by updating that program. If it comes up when you didn’t initiate anything, then you can be suspicious of it. It may be a virus or a hacker who has changed it so they can have access to your computer. In this case, you would say No to it. To turn MD5 Signature Verification off:
• Right click on the firewall shield in the system tray
• Choose Administration
• Click the Advanced button

• Uncheck the checkbox for Check MD5 Signature
