Scanning For Spyware and Hacker Tools

To scan your whole computer for Spyware, Adware, hacker tools and other malicious programs that may be on your computer, follow these instructions:

• Open the INVISUS Anti-Spyware program by double clicking the icon on the desktop or the icon in the system tray.

• Click on the "Spyware Scan" option in the top left of the INVISUS Anti-Spyware window.

• Click the "Scan Now" button

The INVISUS Anti-Virus program will now scan your machine for malicious software.

Analyze Malware or Files That Were Found

After completing a scan of your system, you are given a complete report of all the "malware" found on your computer. The temptation is to go ahead and delete everything the program discovered. But, you may want to quickly look through the files that were found and make a determination whether you want to delete each one or not. For example, you may use a program that looks and acts like Spyware or a hacker tool (i.e. a remote support tool like VNC), but you know and use it all the time.

For those "trusted" files or programs, you will want to have the Anti-Spyware ignore them from being detected in future scans. This is done easily by clicking the down arrow next to the file and choosing “Always Ignore” instead of quarantine or remove.

Removing Malware

Once a scan of your computer is completed, read the details of each pest that was detected carefully. You can then decide whether you delete each one, quarantine them, or ignore them.

To remove them, click on the down arrow next to the file and choose "Remove". If you would like to quarantine them instead of deleting them, you can choose "Quarantine". Once you have decided what you would like to do with the files, click on the "Take Action" button to perform the tasks you chose.

Note** There are very few types of Spyware that this program discovers that you would want to keep on your computer - unless you put it there yourself and know what it is, or if it is a critical part of one of the trusted applications you use. Don't be fooled by Spyware that is a part of a program like Internet music and file sharing programs, etc. Many programs downloaded or shared across the Internet are loaded with Spyware and hacker tools. Some may not work at all after you delete the Spyware that came with it. You will have to make the choice whether you are comfortable with keeping the Spyware on your computer and continue using the risky program, or deleting the program altogether.

INVISUS Anti-Spyware Active Protection

The INVISUS Anti-Spyware program is always checking your running processes and file movements for malware. If any unknown program tries to allow itself to start with your computer, you will be notified and asked if you want to allow it to start with your computer or not. The Active Protection is also checking files that may try to install themselves on your system.

Updating the INVISUS Anti-Spyware

You can manually update the INVISUS Anti-Spyware program by clicking on the "Spyware Definitions" link on the main screen. The program will check for new definitions, download them and install them for you.

To check for updates automatically, click on the "Automatic Updates" option on the main screen. Make sure "Enable automatic updates" is checked. Then you can choose when you want the program to update. Click the down arrow on the box next to "Check for Updates" and choose User Logon, Daily, Every other day, or Every week. For the Daily, Every other day and Every week, you will need to choose the time of day you would like the program to update. Make sure you choose a time that your computer will be turned on and connected to the internet. It is highly recommended to update when the computer is logged onto.
